San Diego’s Little Italy, which was founded in 1871, is in the midst of a renaissance. First, Chef Nino Zizzo of the Busalacchi Restaurant Group will dazzle guests with his showmanship and humor as he takes us into a world of Sicilian cooking. Guests relax and watch as our chef creates a fabulous Sicilian meal before their eyes. Each recipe is demonstrated in class. Then, guests will participate in a wine tasting where wines from Sicily will be featured, sampled and discussed and a colorful array of Italian appetizers will be served. All staff wear a microphone to ensure that you won’t miss any of the details presented during the program. Guests can communicate with the chef during the presentation. In the Village of La Jolla, guests will be treated to lunch at the Crab Catcher. Set high on a cliff overlooking a spectacular ocean view, Crab Catcher offers an unforgettable dining experience. Fresh seafood is their specialty; the exciting . avors of California and the Pacific Rim their inspiration. After lunch, guests will enjoy exploring the boutiques, galleries and designer studios, viewing the coastline, or beach-combing on their own at the famous La Jolla Cove. All of these activities are set against a stunning backdrop that is often compared to the French Riviera for its aesthetic appeal.

A Seaside Stroll
Tuesday, March 16 $59/person 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Coronado began in 1886, the dream of Elisha Babcock, who vowed to create a resort that was to be the “finest watering spot on the Pacific Coast.” Along with its fabled Hotel del Coronado, the town became one of the great playgrounds of the world, drawing Presidents and princes, moguls and movie stars to its shores. Concurrently, North Island Naval Air Station was developed into one of this century’s most important aviation centers, (Lindbergh and Doolittle lit her skies and shaped the destiny of . ight in America). Coronado’s past, full of fabulous homes and famous memories, is still very much a part of San Diego’s life today. On a leisurely, guided stroll through quaint Coronado, guests see the stately mansion of John D. Spreckels and the cottage of the Duchess of Windsor, view the home where the Wizard of Oz was inspired, and tour the magnificent Hotel del Coronado. Guests enjoy the tales and tidbits of a hundred years of remarkable history … on Coronado Island!

After the walking tour, guests will have free time to explore Coronado on their own.
